Weekend Retreat 2013
The LTCC retreat in 2013 was held at Woldingham School from 5thto 7th April 2013 along with All Asia Christian Consultative Group. The group who attended consisted of 27 LTCC members including Pothahar, Pothahar Ammah, children and babies.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings the day started with mild exercises that involved Christian Tai Chi. This was optional but it was an encouraging one as some members of our group involved in this activity. On Saturday, this was followed by talks on different topics: Spiritual Growth and our stewardship with the Energy and Environmental issues.
Whilst the adults were engaged with talks, Porthager Ammah involved the children and taught them two songs. Mathu and Premi taught the LTCC children a beautiful dance. After lunch, we were free to do what we liked. Our group engaged in various activities during this time such as swimming, table tennis, football and playing in the park. Our children especially enjoyed the free time with games and other activities they played.
On Saturday evening there was a variety of entertainment where people from different groups attending the retreat participated. LTCC’s contribution was as follows: the children participated through singing action song, playing music and dance; the adults sang a Tamil song; and concluded with Baila music, which everyone jubilantly participated in.
On Sunday morning we all attended a Holy Communion service at the Chapel. We all left the school after lunch to return back home.
The retreat was well organised and enjoyed by one and all. We hope more people can attend next year and the forthcoming years.
