Peace-builders

Dear Friends

Greetings in Jesus’ name

The word ‘grace’ is basic in our Christian faith journey.

Paul wrote

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8)

James wrote,

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26)

Where are we in understanding God’s grace and sharing our faith in our daily lives?  To reflect on our journey of faith, God has given us an opportunity to celebrate the Special Sunday of World Mission on 27th August at Rivercourt Methodist Church, Hammersmith. The world needs our faith to be shared in the midst of the crisis and turmoil in many places. The world church needs our perseverance to support their local church responses with our prayers and small efforts to bring peace.

Through nature, God teaches us so many ways to be mindful of making peace wherever we are. Two days ago, when I was walking and praying in the place where I was staying in India, God opened my eyes to see a small honeycomb which I found on my way. The honeycomb was beautiful, and through that honeycomb, God reminded me to discern the unity among bees building the honeycomb.

We can admire the sacrificial efforts among honey bees in their partnership without any competition between them. If a job needs to be done, any available bee will jump on it without counting its cost. This makes their community both incredibly efficient and an example showing a peaceful life. More than that, each honey bee takes the leadership responsibility to make things happen without any disruptions so as to bring smooth and harmonious life among them.

Jesus gave a mandate to His disciples to share His good news in the world. What is our small effort to be done with World Mission today to bring peace to the world?

May this month continually remind us of the grace we received from God, and to be part of peace-builders who share God’s grace with others.

Have a blessed month.

With blessings
