Celebrating God’s Faithfulness: 53 Years of His Steadfast Love

Celebrating God’s Faithfulness: 53 Years of His Steadfast Love

Psalm 100:5 – "For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations."

As we prepare to celebrate the 53rd Anniversary of the London Tamil Christian Congregation (LTCC), we pause to reflect on the unchanging faithfulness of our God. Every milestone in our journey as a church is a testament to His provision, guidance, and fulfilled promises. Just as the Israelites erected stones of remembrance to mark God’s miracles (Joshua 4:6-7), this anniversary is our spiritual memorial—a sacred moment to give thanks for all He has done.

Remembering God’s Faithfulness

Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to remember. When the Israelites crossed the Jordan, they carried twelve stones as a sign for future generations (Joshua 4:21-24). Similarly, for 53 years, LTCC has been a living testimony of God’s grace—through seasons of growth, challenge, and renewal. Each answered prayer, every transformed life, and every trial overcome proclaims: "The Lord has done great things for us!" (Psalm 126:3).

Rejoicing in His Goodness

Psalm 100 urges us to "enter His gates with thanksgiving"—not just as individuals, but as a community of faith. Our anniversary is more than nostalgia; it is an act of worship. Like David dancing before the Ark (2 Samuel 6:14), we rejoice because: God has sustained us (Isaiah 46:4), God has united us (Psalm 133:1), and God has used us to be His light in London and beyond (Matthew 5:14).

Renewing Our Commitment

Anniversaries are also a time to look forward. In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus commends the church for their works but urges them to "return to their first love." As we celebrate 53 years, let us: Recommit to prayer (Colossians 4:2), Reignite our mission (Matthew 28:19-20), and Reach the next generation (Psalm 145:4).

A story is told of an old oak tree that weathered countless storms. When asked how it stood so strong, the gardener replied, “Its roots run deep.” For 53 years, LTCC has stood firm because our roots are in Christ (Colossians 2:7). As we celebrate, let us plant seeds of faith for the next 53 years and beyond!

Let us come together on the 22nd of this month at Rivercourt Methodist Church to celebrate God’s grace upon the London Tamil Christian Congregation. Together, we will worship, give thanks, and seek fresh blessings from the hand of our faithful God.

“To Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us—to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21.
